Description
Le Bistro de Montmija Rouge is made with organic grapes from vineyards along
The Mediterranean coastline. The typical Mediterranean climate facilitates organic farming.
The soil originates from the Tertiary or Quaternary periods and is mainly formed by
alluvium and clay and limestone. The Carignan vines are grown as bush vines, while the
Merlot and Syrah are grown using the cordon method, where the vines wind along two
Vertical wiring. The organically farmed grapes are harvested by machine. A pre-fermentation
and cold soaking develops aromas of the red berry fruits. Fermentation
takes place at a low temperature (20°C), which helps develop the wine’s appealing character and
fruitiness. The wine is not barrel aged, but 10 months in steel tanks. The wine has an intense
purple color and an aroma of blackcurrant, blackberry and licorice. The wine is fresh with an inviting
bouquet of fresh dark berries and southern French spices. The taste is juicy and lively with
soft tannins, great notes of dark berries, licorice, and spices a long fruity
Aftertaste. An all-round, smooth and tasty wine.
